Foodbrands America, Inc., formerly known as Doskocil Companies, was a leading producer and marketer of processed deli meats, pizza toppings, frozen pasta and frozen Mexican food, primarily for the foodservice market. The Company’s customers included wholesale foodservice distributors, multi-unit restaurant chains, food processors, grocery store delicatessens and warehouse clubs, many of which were market leaders within their industry sectors. At the time of JLL’s investment, Foodbrands also owned operations in the fresh meat and slaughtering segment and the retail foods sector, both of which were subsequently divested.
